Current Bid History
The Current Bid Report provides a snapshot of your auction bidding activity. You can choose which items to include, display either the current winning bid or the complete bid history, filter sold or unsold items, and sort the report in several ways. This report is ideal for monitoring auction progress, reviewing bidding activity, and identifying backup bidders.
💡 Good to Know: This report can be found under Reports → Auction Reports → Current Bid Report.

In the Current Bid Report Popup
Use the popup to customize the report before generating it.

1. Choose Which Items to Include
Select the scope of items to include in the report.
Available options include:
- All Items
- Select Auction Type
- Catalog Number Range
- Procurement Number Range
- Single Procurement Number
💡 Good to Know: When using a Catalog Number Range, enter the same catalog number for both the Start and End values to generate a report for a single catalog item.
2. Select Report Options
Customize the report by selecting any of the following options:
- Include Bid History – Displays every bid placed on each item instead of only the current winning bid.
- Hide Sold Items – Excludes sold items from the report.
- Hide Unsold Items – Excludes unsold items from the report.
💡 Good to Know: Leave both Hide Sold Items and Hide Unsold Items unchecked to include all auction items in the report.
3. Choose the Sort Order
Select how you would like the report organized.
Available sorting options include:
- Catalog Number
- Item Number
- Bid Number
- Bidder Name
💡 Good to Know: Different sorting options make it easier to review bidding activity by item, bidder, or catalog order.
4. Review the Current Bid Report
The report includes:
- Catalog Number
- Item Name
- Fair Market Value (FMV)
- Bid Amount
- Winning Bidder
- Bid Number
- Item Status
When Include Bid History is selected, the report also displays:
- All bids placed on each item
- Secondary bids beneath the winning bid
- Complete bidding history for each item
💡 Good to Know: Sold items are clearly identified with a Sold status, while unsold items remain labeled as Unsold.
5. Print or Export the Report
After generating the report, you can choose to:
- Download as PDF
- Download as Excel
- Print the report
💡 Good to Know: Exporting to Excel makes it easy to sort, filter, and analyze bidding activity outside of MaxGiving.

6. Analyze Auction Performance
Use this report to:
- Review bidding activity for each auction item.
- Evaluate item performance during the auction.
- Identify secondary bidders.
- Find potential backup buyers if a winning bidder is unable to complete the purchase.
- Review the complete bidding history for an item.
💡 Good to Know: This report is commonly used during the event to monitor auction activity and after the event to resolve bidding questions or identify alternate buyers.

How to Print This Guide
- Right-click on the image of the guide
- Select Save Image As…
- Save the file to your computer
- Open the saved image
- Click Print (or use Ctrl + P / Command + P)
💡 Good to Know
For best results, print using Full Page or Fit to Page settings to ensure proper sizing and clarity.
