Auction Category Analysis Report

The Auction Category Analysis Report summarizes auction performance by item category. It compares the number of items in each category, how many sold, total Fair Market Value (FMV), sales revenue, and yield percentage, making it easy to identify your strongest-performing categories.

💡 Good to Know: This report can be found under Reports → Auction Reports → Auction Category Analysis Report.

1. Review the Report

The report summarizes auction performance for each item category.

The report includes:

• Category Name
• Number of Items
• Number of Items Sold
• Percent of Items Sold
• Total Fair Market Value (FMV)
• Total Sales Amount
• Yield Percentage

💡 Good to Know: The Yield Percentage compares the total selling price of items within a category to their combined Fair Market Value.

2. Analyze Category Performance

Use this report to:

• Compare how each auction category performed.
• Identify categories with the highest sales percentages.
• Review which categories generated the greatest revenue.
• Evaluate yield percentages across categories.
• Identify categories that may need improvement for future events.

💡 Good to Know: Reviewing category performance over multiple events can help guide procurement efforts and improve future auction results.

3. Print or Export the Report

After generating the report, you can choose to:

• Download as PDF
• Download as Excel
• Print the report

💡 Good to Know: Exporting to Excel allows you to sort, filter, compare categories, and perform additional analysis outside of MaxGiving.

How to Print This Guide

1. Right-click on the image of the guide
2. Select Save Image As…
3. Save the file to your computer
4. Open the saved image
5. Click Print (or use Ctrl + P / Command + P)
