Unsold Items

The Unsold Items Report provides a list of all auction items that did not sell during your event. It includes key item information to help with post-event inventory, reconciliation, and planning for future auctions.

💡 Good to Know: This report can be found under Reports → Auction Reports → Unsold Items Report. The report opens automatically as a PDF when selected.

1. Review the Report

The report lists every auction item that did not receive a winning bid.

The report includes:

    • Catalog Number
    • Item Name
    • Auction Type
    • Item Category
    • Fair Market Value (FMV)
    • Starting Bid
    • Buy Now Price (if assigned)

💡 Good to Know: Only items that remain unsold at the close of the auction are included in this report.

2. Print or Export the Report

After generating the report, you can choose to:

  • Download as PDF
  • Download as Excel
  • Print the report

💡 Good to Know: Exporting to Excel allows you to sort, filter, and manage unsold inventory outside of MaxGiving.


Use the Report After Your Event

Use this report to:

    • Identify all unsold auction items.
    • Gather unsold items after the event.
    • Assist with post-event inventory reconciliation.
    • Review which items did not attract bidders.
    • Evaluate items for future auctions or fundraising events.

💡 Good to Know: Reviewing unsold items can help identify trends and improve procurement decisions for future events.

How to Print This Guide

  1. Right-click on the image of the guide
  2. Select Save Image As…
  3. Save the file to your computer
  4. Open the saved image
  5. Click Print (or use Ctrl + P / Command + P)

💡 Good to Know

For best results, print using Full Page or Fit to Page settings to ensure proper sizing and clarity.
