Editing Winning Bids and Reopening Items
When choosing to Edit a Winning Bid or re-opening an item, be very careful as once the change is made it can not be undone. You will need to use your Admin Login. ***Guests that have already paid for items on their statement may end up with an overpayment if you remove items, so make sure you handle any refunds necessary in conjunction with removed items.
Editing a Winning Bid:
1. Go to Dashboard/Auction Items/Winning Bidders Choose the Winning Bidders tab
2. Find the item you would like to edit. You can use the Search Bar by looking for the Item via Catalog#, Item Name, or the Person who you are changing or editing the bid.
3. Click on the Edit Button to the right of the item.
4. In the pop up you will have 3 choices:
a. Delete Winning Bid and Reopen Item for Online Bidding: This will remove the winning bidder and open the item to live bidding again with the next highest bidder as the leading bidder. IMPORTANT, On the My Simple Auction/MSA platform, this is labeled as Delete Winning Bid and Reopen Item. There is no online bidding, so it does not reopen for public participation.
b. Remove Winning Bidder and Sell Item to Another Bidder: This will keep the item closed but allow you to sell the item to a different bidder.
i. Choose one of the previous bidders.
ii. Or choose a new bidder and winning amount by entering the bid number of the new winner and winning bid amount in the text boxes. You can use this feature to sell to the original winning bidder but change the winning amount if needed.
c. Remove Winning Bidder and Leave Unsold: This will remove the winning bidder and leave the item as unavailable to online bidding. IMPORTANT, This is not an option on the MSA/My Simple Auction platform.
**Remember to Click the Submit Changes button when complete
To Reopen an Item:
1. Go to Dashboard/Auction Items/Winning Bidders Choose the Winning Bidders tab
2. Find the item you would like to reopen. You can use the Search Bar by looking for the Item via Catalog#, Item Name, or the person who you are changing or editing the bid.
3. Click on the Reopen Button to the right of the item.
4. Select Confirm in the Popup to Reopen Item.
***This will open the item to live bidding with the winning bidder now being the top bidder.
